How does exercise work on weight loss? What’s the mechanism?

April 3rd, 2009 | Posted in Weight Loss   Comments Off

According to Law of Conservation of Matter, there is no detectable increase or decrease in the quantity of matter, no mass is changed during an ordinary chemical change. So my question is:

How does exercise work on weight loss? Where does all the mass go during exercise? As we all know, if we use our calories, our weight decreases. But there is inconsistency between the law and weight loss. Anyone can explain this mechanism? Thanks in advance.

How safe are herbal weight loss teas?

April 3rd, 2009 | Posted in Weight Loss   Comments Off

I’m trying to lose about 10 pounds and I was wondering if weight loss teas would help (”Three Ballerina” brand). I don’t want to damage my body in any way, however. Do you know if these teas are safe to drink?

I have hit the weight-loss plateau in my work out routine. What do I do?

March 31st, 2009 | Posted in Weight Loss   Comments Off

So my workout routine is this- 30 min of cardio (usually eliptical at 230 watts) m-f and then I alternate muscle groups daily, but I lift weight for another 30 min. On saturdays, I attend a body pump class. During my cardio, I burn between 450 and 500 calories, and I sweat like crazy. I don’t want to increase my cardio more than 150 min a week, because personal trainers have advised me not to. I try to work abs a little bit everyday. I am doing a lower calorie diet (1500-1700 a day), and I try to eat something every 2 or 3 hours to keep my metabolism up. I lost 20lbs in 2 months, and now I can’t seem to loose any more weight. I want to loose weight naturally (meaning I don’t take weight-loss supplements) so I just stick to a daily multi-vitamin. I only want to loose like 2 lbs a week or so, and not much more. So what should I do to start loosing weight again?? I’m stuck… Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :) Ok, some things I forgot… I turn 21 this month, and I already eat alot of fresh fruits and vegatables, and alot of chicken ****** because of the low fat and high protein content.

What Method of weight loss is the best?

March 30th, 2009 | Posted in Weight Loss   Comments Off

I was thinking about alot of different methods, but i couldnt decide which one to choose! i can’t do any of those Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem diets, beause im only 13. I am really not in good shape, here are some ideas:
1. Water diet/ fast
2. 5-day fast
3. Lean Cuisine
4. Diet and Excersize (ABs)
5.Counting Calories
Any more ideas, please let me know, if you could help me find which one has the most rapid weight loss, and which one is easiest, that would be great. Thanks!

March 30th, 2009 | Posted in Weight Loss   Comments Off

ive been doing research on matcha and i read that regular drinkers have a 30-40% increase in their metabolism which results in weightloss. i was just wondering how long would you have to drink matcha tea to notice weight loss results? in other words, what makes a regular drinker? they’ve been drinking it for a month? 5 months? etc? thanks!!

which causes more weight loss- throwing up after you eat or the use of laxatives?

March 28th, 2009 | Posted in Weight Loss   Comments Off

I know its wrong but im just curious from the people who have actually tried both who have had their temporary weight loss and who actually got skinny because of it. Ive heard laxatives dont make u any skinnier they just show a smaller number on the scale.
